An AI assistant that actually knows your garden.
Most AI garden tools give you generic advice. Sprout reads your actual beds, plantings, harvest history, and local 7-day forecast before saying anything. Every answer is specific to what you actually have growing, right now.
Ask a generic AI assistant when to water your tomatoes and it'll give you a standard answer based on average conditions. It doesn't know you're in a hot, dry part of regional Australia. It doesn't know you planted them six weeks ago in a 600mm raised bed with drip irrigation. It doesn't know there's 38mm of rain forecast for Thursday.
Sprout knows all of that. Before answering, it reads your property location, your current plantings, the events you've already logged, and the live weather forecast for your location. The advice it gives is built from your data, not a generic rulebook.
Sprout handles a wide range of questions, from quick in-garden lookups to detailed planning conversations. A few examples of what people actually ask:
- "Do I need to water anything today, given the forecast?"
- "My zucchini leaves have gone powdery — what is it and how do I treat it?"
- "What should I plant next in bed 3 after the beans finish?"
- "Give me a summary of how my tomatoes have done this season."
- "Is it safe to fertilise today or is rain coming?"
- "What are good companions to plant alongside my brassicas?"
- "I haven't watered the garlic in 10 days — should I be worried?"
Sprout can also log garden events for you. Instead of navigating to the right planting, choosing an event type, and filling in fields, you can just tell Sprout what you did.
Say "watered everything in the veggie patch this morning" or "harvested about half a kilo of cherry tomatoes from bed 2" and Sprout creates a draft event linked to the correct planting. You review it before anything is confirmed and saved. You're always in control — Sprout never writes directly to your garden log without your approval.
Draft and confirm, always. Every event Sprout creates goes through a review step. You see exactly what will be logged, which planting it's linked to, and what the values are. Change anything that's wrong, then confirm. This prevents bad data getting into your garden history.
If you've tagged your plantings with GPS coordinates, Sprout uses your phone's location to resolve ambiguity automatically. Two wattles, two lemon trees, two courgette plants in different beds — Sprout knows which one you mean based on where you're standing. No need to specify every time.
Tag a planting once. From then on, standing near it is enough context for Sprout to act on what you say about it.
Sprout lives in a floating panel accessible from anywhere in the app. Tap the Sprout button at the bottom of any screen — your garden, a planting detail, the designer, a harvest record — and the conversation panel opens in context. Sprout reads whichever page you're on and factors it into its response.
It's designed to be fast. The kind of question you ask while standing in the garden, phone in hand, needs an answer in seconds — not a journey through menus.
