Your garden in your pocket — MyPlot is now installable

MyPlot is a web app, but it doesn't have to live in a browser tab. Install it on your home screen, open it from the dock, and use it while offline in the garden — no App Store, no Play Store, no waiting for a review.

When you install MyPlot, you get a full-screen app experience — no browser chrome, no address bar, no accidental tab-switching. It launches instantly from your home screen, looks and feels like any other app, and sits next to everything else in your dock. The only difference is it updates automatically, without an App Store review cycle.

Offline mode means the app keeps working when you're out of signal range — which is most of the time you're actually in the garden, moving around with your phone in your pocket. Walk sessions, quick logs, and observation notes all work without connectivity. When you reconnect, everything syncs within seconds.

We chose the PWA approach deliberately. Native apps are slower to update — every change requires an App Store review, which means you're waiting days for bug fixes. They also create a friction barrier: someone hears about MyPlot, goes to the App Store, downloads it, waits for the install. With a PWA, you can be recording your first garden event within 30 seconds of someone telling you about it.

The installation is also reversible — if you want to remove it from your home screen, you can, and your data and account are completely unaffected. Everything lives in the cloud. You can switch between the installed app and the browser version freely, and both stay in sync.
