Settings & Preferences
Settings let you personalise how MyPlot works for you — your display name, your preferred unit system, and your household.
Profile settings
Available at Settings → Profile. You can update:
- Display name — shown in the sidebar and activity logs
- Email address — your login email
- Password — change your password via the reset flow
- Unit system — metric or imperial (see below)
Switching units (metric / imperial)
- Go to Settings → Profile.
- Under Unit system, select Metric (°C, mm, kg) or Imperial (°F, in, lb).
- Save — all measurements throughout the app update immediately.

|---|---|---|
| Temperature | °C | °F |
| Rainfall / water | mm | inches |

| Bed dimensions | cm / m | in / ft |
Default property
If you have more than one property (for example, a home garden and an allotment), you can set a default — the property that loads automatically on the dashboard when no active selection is remembered from your browser session.
- Go to Settings → Profile.
- Under Default property, select the property you use most.
- Click Save.
Session cookie present
- App uses the property from your last session
- Your default property setting is ignored
- Switch anytime via the property switcher in the top bar
No session cookie
- Default property setting takes effect
- Applies on a new browser, new device, or after inactivity
- Set your preferred default under Settings → Profile
The active property is remembered per browser session via a cookie. The default property only takes effect when no session cookie is present — for example, when you open the app in a new browser, on a new device, or after a long period of inactivity.
To switch properties during a session, use the property switcher in the top bar. This overrides the default for that session.
